Challenges don't get more daring than walking over 20 feet of wood embers burning at 1236 degrees Fahrenheit, however it was a challenge the Business Connect team were willing to take on for a great cause.
Sue Ryder - Dee View Court are currently looking to raise £3.9 million to allow them to expand the current building they have in Aberdeen and thus increase the amount of patients they can care for. The specialist centre the only one in Scotland cares for patients with neurological conditions such as Huntington’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Motor Neurone Disease.
Business Connect Founder Catriona Stevenson said "This is a charity and cause close to my own heart having lost my mum to MS back in 2014, she spent 13yrs in a nursing home designed for elderly residents despite only being 41 when she first went in. Had a facility like Dee View Court been available I am sure the experience mum and the family would of had would have been a far more positive one"
On the night participants were taken through a thorough training session before rushing over the burning embers supported by friends and family.
The Business Connect team have raised over £1100 in donations and the walk itself has raised over £9000 a great step towards the final goal. "so whats the next challenge?" asks Sarah Downs Business Connect Founder. Only time will tell but we will keep you updated!
